German luxury kitchen appliance manufacturer GAGGENAU showed their range in a monastery-like atrium stand. The focus was on simplicity rather than a posh and glitzy idea of luxury. The symbols of this were terracotta wine containers, simple breads and down-to-earth green beans with lemon flavour.
In contrast to the 80ies, the tradional link between Gaggenau and Bulthaup is less strong. The pair used to be perceived as the state-of-the-art in kitchen design and quality. But like most appliance producers GAGGENAU does not show real kitchens but abstract displays for their products.
A real pity and a missed opportunity.
