Having seen the latest kitchen trends in this year’s Cologne LIVING KITCHEN fair, you tend to think that kitchens strongly want to become fashion items. I doubt that people will buy kitchens like shirts, but the intention is visible to spark the consumer into a new look.
Nolte showed a red + black lacquer kitchen that looked nearly as cheap as Nicki Minaj.
The hip fashion trend of patterns and digital prints was an display at Ballerina (above, but: “don’t call it Burberry”) and at Sachsenküchen (below).
Warm yellows like mustard and curcuma were the talking point at Rational (below) and Leicht Kitchens (above).
Warm greys and greige could be seen at Leicht (below) and Nolte. They remind me more of Armani than of a kitchen, though.
Colour blocking enters the kitchen arena through coloured inserts and shelving. On display during LIVING KITCHEN at Schüller (left), Nobilia (top) and Bauformat (below).
